This is one of the most beautiful, and popular hikes among mountaineers from Sarajevo. The hike itself isn't very demanding and can be done by any reasonably fit person. Kaoca ridge forms southern border of Rakitnica canyon and offers breathtaking views on the canyon and surounding mountains: Bjelašnica, Prenj and Treskavica.
We will begin our hike in Tušila river valley and slowly go up to natural anphiteatre formed by Mokre stijene - Vito - Subar peaks. From there we will have a bit more demanding climb up to Vito where we will stay an hour (or more if the weather permits!) enjoying the view on Lukomir village below, Rakitnica canyon, getting to know the mountains, Bosnian nature, history and have a picnic lunch.
The continues on it's most beautiful part - the ridge itself. Wide enough only for a person, but still safe enough that we don't need any special eqipement. The walk will take us over some smaller peaks to the end of the ridge.
We will finish the hike on a descent through the forest and come back to Tušila, completing the full circle.
A Circular hike on one of the most beautiful ridges on Bosnian mountains. The hike that is very popular among locals, but tourists rarely visit it. Only the vews on Rakitnica canyon would make this hike worthwhile, but it offers so much more.
