Jajce and Travnik are two royal towns, as they were seats of Bosnian kings in medieval times. Jajce is one of the rare cities with natural waterfall in the centre, a town where Bosnian kingdom collapsed and birthplace of Yugoslavia. Travnik is a former capital in the Ottoman times, a seat of viziers. This one day trip will take you to discover unique hidden gems in central Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Jajce:
Once there, first thing we go and see is one of the world’s most beautiful waterfalls, and the only one in the World placed in the city center, famous Pliva Waterfalls - spot where Pliva river ends its flow and meets Vrbas.
After enjoying the waterfall, we will start walking tour of Jajce, visiting the fortress, the Mithraic Temple, the Museum of the Second Session of AVNOJ, Medvjed Kula, the Tower of St. Luke, Catacombs, mosque of Esma Sultanija.
Our next stop, after a short drive are Pliva lakes. We will visit medieval mills situated between the two lakes, and enjoy the nature. You will have free time to just explore the area, take a swimm or take a paddleboat into the lake.
Travnik:
After arrival, we will first go for lunch to eat fameous Travnik Ćevapi. After which we will go on a walking trip visiting Coloured Mosque, the most beautiful mosque in the country, both Clock Towers as Travnik is the only town in Bosnia with two of those, čaršija, Blue water spring, and Elči Ibrahim-pasha medressa. In the end, we will drive up to the fortress for the panoramic view on the whole town.
