This is an easy and very popular hike for the mountaneer comunity in Sarajevo.
We will start our hike from Napredak hut. The walk takes us through pine forest all the way to the peak. We will make two stops on the way. Forst one n a viewpoint liiking towards Sarajevo and mountains to the north. Second one is at destroyed Mountain hut Vaso Miskin Crni where you will get to know the history of mountaineering in Bosnia.
Right before the peak we will see Austro-Hungarian artillery positions from before the first world war and learn about the first losses of KUK military in The War to End All Wars.
We will then climb to the peak itself and have a picnic lunch there.
The hike back takes us over the western ridge towards other artillery positions from the First World War. Where we will also talk about the last war as Trebević was a stronghold from which Sarajevo was terrorised from 1992-1995.
Rest of the hike is through the forest back to Napredak hut.
On the way bak we will stop to see olympic bobsled which was used as a shelter on the front lines in the last war.
Before returning back to the city we will also stop at one sniper nest from which many civilians were shot.
Easy hike to the closest olympic mountain to Sarajevo. It offers spectacular views on Sarajevo, war stories, a visit to olympic bobsled and a sniper point from which the city was terrorised in the last war.
