Prijedor is a town in north-western Bosnia and Herzegovina which became infamous for the Serb-run concentration camps during the Bosnian Genocide 1992-95. The images from the Omarska and Trnopolje concentration camps made headlines throughout the world. The aim of this tour is to learn more about the history of the Prijedor area.
The tour includes a visit to the Partizan monument on Mt. Kozara; Trnopolje concentration camp; returnee settlement of Kozarac (for lunch/coffee); Tomašica mass grave (largest mass grave in Europe after Holocaust) and finally a visit to Prijedor town. The tour will be given by our expert guide and by a local guide fluent in English and German and a survivor of the Trnopolje camp.
